Hastelloy B-2 is a nickel-based alloy with excellent corrosion resistance to hydrochloric, sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. It also withstands attack by hydrogen chloride and has excellent resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, knife-line and heat affecting zone attacks. It is not recommended for use in the presence of ferric or cupric salts as they may cause rapid corrosion failure of components. Is commonly used in chemical processing equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, valves, etc.
